Eco Club of Surya Global School

The Eco Club of Surya Global School (ICSE), Uthangarai, Krishnagiri District proudly organized a meaningful environmental initiative called the School Kitchen Garden. This project began on 5th December 2025, with enthusiastic participation from students and teachers who worked together to plant vegetable seedlings within the school campus.

The aim of the activity was to help students understand the importance of sustainable living, organic food, and environmental responsibility. Students actively prepared the soil, planted saplings, and learned how to nurture plants with care and patience.

Through this hands-on activity, students experienced the journey of food from soil to plate, developing a deeper respect for nature and agriculture. The kitchen garden also helped them learn practical skills such as plant care, watering, composting, and maintaining a healthy garden ecosystem.

Over the next few months, the garden flourished under the care of the Eco Club members. Students regularly monitored the plants, watered them, and observed their growth. This activity encouraged teamwork, responsibility, and environmental awareness among the students.

Finally, on 9th March 2026, the students celebrated the harvesting of fresh vegetables grown in their own school garden. The harvest marked the successful completion of the project and highlighted the value of patience, dedication, and collective effort.

The School Kitchen Garden initiative stands as a wonderful example of experiential learning at Surya Global School. It not only promoted eco-friendly practices but also inspired students to develop a lifelong respect for nature and sustainable living.
